Glass Lamp Shade Repair
How can I repair a long crack in a frosted glass lamp shade?
The crack has not broken off, it is in an S shape, about 15 cm long. I am worried about using products which may discolor over time and leave a yellow mark on either side of the crack. I also live in Australia, so I need products which I can get here. But any suggestions are great, I may be able to find a similar product here with the same/similar ingredients.
clear epoxy works well on cracks and adds strength but it will not look pretty or neat on a frosted glass shade.

Glass Lamp Kit
Does anyone know how to rewire a lamp that has 2 bulbs plus a night light in the base?
Hi! I recently bought 2 gorgeous stained glass lamps that have 2 bulbs in them. (Not including the small bulb in the bases) They were each suppose to have 2 pull chains on them~one for each bulb~BUT all they have are an inline switch that works all 3 bulbs. Is there anyway that I can add a 2 pull chain system and maybe keep an inline switch for the “night light” that is in the base of the lamp? (I don’t want to have 2 seperate cords.) I’ve rewired regular lamps before, but never tackled anything like this. If anyone knows of a kit or something that is available (Or just your own ideas) I would really appreciate your help:)

Yes it’s possible to do it anyway you want it. Since you’ve done wiring before you know how to do that. You can buy the pull chain switches at supply stores or hardware stores. All you do with them is feed the hot wire going to the light on one side then out the other side and on to the light socket.

You are on your own in a new house.
On the 2nd floor is a lamp.
In the basement are 3 switches,
one of them switches on the lamp but you don’t know which one.
You can switch them on and off as much as you like,
but you can only go and check the lamp once.
After checking you should now know
which is the switch for the lamp…
How do you accomplish this task ?
You switch one on, leave it on for two mins and then turn it off.
You then switch on the second, and while leaving it on go upstairs to check.
If the bulb is hot……but off then it’s the first switch.
If it’s on……….then it’s the second
If it’s off and cold…then it’s the third!………o.k
Turn two of them on. Then turn one off and remember which one u turned off. Go to the lightbulb and look if it is on or off. if it is on, the switch that is on is the one. If it is off, feel it, and if it is warm, it is the switch that was on but was then turned off. If it is not warm, it is the one that was never turned on.

Which of these two brick lights should I use in the brick columns I am building?
I am trying to decide which of these two brick lights to use in the brick columns I am building by my driveway and walkway, and how many of them.
My entryway sidewalk is 42 inches wide and my single car driveway gate opening is 10 feet. At first I had thought to use 4 of these brick lights in the columns on either side of the walkway and driveway, for balance and appearance.
What do you think, would one light for each entry way be enough? And of these two manufacturers, which seems the best value/ design? Both use 110V. The Halo uses a 20 W incandescent lamp and the Xenon has a built in transformer for 12V LED light.

Without knowing more about the situation, my general reaction is that you aren’t going to get a lot of light out of either choice. In one case you are getting 80 watts of incandescent which is not a whole lot for a driveway situation. Same comment on the LEDs. Plus the LEDs have to be on for a bit before you get all the output. If you just want the light for aesthetics then either choice would work, if you want them for safety and to show off your landscaping, I think you’ll have to bump them up a bit.
