Led Lamps Battery Powered
How can I make a battery powered LED strip with 3 way switches?
My goal is to make a long line of grouped LEDs that is battery powered and can be turned on or off from 2 different locations. I’m trying to make a lighting system that doesn’t make me have to turn on several individual lamps as I find them along my path.
I will be making a line with 8 LED lamps (“lamp” being a cluster of 6 LEDs), but I have no idea as to how to go about making the line.
How should I set up the circuit to have all of them retain their brightness?
I need a battery that is rechargeable, so I am making one on cheapbatterypacks.com. What size battery will I need to make (voltage and mAh) to power this setup? (LEDs are RL5-W18030 at http://www.superbrightleds.com/leds.htm)
I know I need a 3 way switch to turn them on and off with 2 switches, but I’m not sure how to wire them into the circuit. Any advice?
I don’t have a lot of experience with electronics, so some explanations would be greatly appreciated.

wire them in parallel. Make sure the amp draw is not to high for the battery. While wiring them in parallel, make sure the led voltage matches the battery voltage.

hi to everybody, I live in Swiss and I have always believed that the Americans were a little ecological, (without offense). Could you tell me your opinion instead??? America is nothing like Switzerland. Having been there last year I have some knowledge of this. Getting around in most town means that you must have a car. Since everything is so spread out here. And public transportation is almost non existence. And most people are too lazy to recycle. I recycle glass, paper, oil, and veggies in my compost pile. Its too hard to find a place that recycles pet. I have some twisty bulbs but most of my fixtures won’t take them. I admit that I don’t recycle everything that I could. I am also saddened by the fact of how lazy people are and how they just don’t care about their trash. Almost every day I have to pick trash out of my yard that my neighbors of passerby just throw out their windows with no regards to wildlife of people. I even went to the park the other day and saw lots of trash lying around in the lake and on the land. It would be great if everyone could do their part to make this world cleaner.

what are these new light bulbs like?
i read in the papers today that the conventional light bulbs are being phased out, from what i can see, no-one has a good word to say about the new energy saving ones. they are saying things like they are health hazards and will spill mercury everywhere if they break and various other problems. also, is there any problems with dimmer switches or security lights?
i love them..i havent had not one problem ut of them and they are good for dimmers and all of the other switches…..not one has burned out in at least 6 months now

Glass Lamp Diffusers
How do I remove crushed glass encrusted on my decorative wall lamp diffuser?
The crushed glass I am referring to are very tiny almost similar to glass beads used in women’s dresses; they’re caramel colored. The diffuser is leaf shaped and frosted and the caramel crusted glass encrusted on it are at the tip of the diffuser. I tried soaking it 24 hrs in soapy water, bruhed it with steel brush. What I haven’t tried though is pouring on it lacquer thinner.
Xylene, a type of paint thinner might be your best bet to separate the two, and will not harm the glass.

I’m looking for swag lamps so we can hang the lights on hooks from the ceiling (like they did in the 70′s) and plug into the wall outlet. This way we don’t have to get our house all wired and install ceiling fixtures.
I’ve found many vintage swag lamps like this on ebay, but can’t find any new ones. Anyone know of a company who sells these lamps new? I’d appreciate any online shops or regular local shops. Thanks

As he went into the house, he found an even bigger mess: dishes on the counter, a broken glass under the table and a small pile of sand by the back door, washing strewn all over the floor. There was a smashed lamp on the floor in the hall.
He started to look for his wife, worrying that something terrible had happened to her.
He found her in the bedroom, still in bed, reading. She looked up at him and smiled. He looked back, bewildered, and asked, “What’s happened here?”

How do I wire a low voltage circuit to light an LED when one or both of my Garage doors are open?
I want to create a circuit using a couple of magnetic door sensors similar those in standard alarms. Using a simple plug in transformer in the garage, I want to illuminate a small indicator light inside the house when one or both doors are left open. Not sure of exactly how to wire this and what type of indicator lamp to use.
Oh good grief – the goverment is not going to attack you for doing some wiring in your house, even if you do it wrong!
A simple way to solve th is is to be creative and use a wireless door bell (radio shack) mounted to ring the bell when the door is open (either one). If the sound bothers you then replace the sound device with an LED (also sold at radio shack) Works on a 9v battery and is cheap.
